While I was lurking the forums over the past week or so I was wondering about the service dress. Can senior members still wear the old style service dress, and if so is there a reputable online supplier of such items? Maybe deserving of it's own thread, but just as convenient to ask here.

Nope. Only cadets have that option. We senior members have to wear the officer-style service dress uniform (with epaulets and sleeve braid). As a senior member, you can go on base and purchase uniform items at the military clothing sales store. Surplus stores near Air Force bases may have some uniform items, but they vary in quality.

Service coats aren't required, FYI.

USAF coats are like 100 dollars on base... 0.0

What base are you close to, I want one. The Coats here at MacDill are $80 for Enlisted and $180 for Officer...

Oh, and welcome to captalk, you should join CAP...
It is still fun, even though my squadron stinks

You know you're not anonymous here, right?

Do you think saying things like the above is going to increase your commander's receptiveness to your ideas?

I do know that.

I also know my CC isn't on CT.
My c/cc has an account but never goes on.

The prices I quoted where from patrick.

Edit: besides, I think some of you guys agree, my squadron isn't the best. If he does see these posts, maybe he'll realise I'm not crazy.

As much as I dislike what he is saying about his squadron and fellow members, this is a free nation, he can have an opinion and voice it as well. Now if he gets into trouble over it, well.....
In god we trust, all others we run through NCIC

Yeah, apparently there is no way possible anyone on this board might forward the comments?  Or just give
him a ping and say "check this out"?

Never happen.

Probably going to need to wait until October to join. Underway schedule is crazy. I have another question. If I pay my dues in October do I pay the dues again in October of the next year or are they due in January?

MIKE

If your join date in eServices is in October then your first renewal dues are due by October 31st 2012.
