Title: Guidon question
Post by: Red 6 on November 19, 2017, 03:36:29 PM
My squadron is getting a guidon, and I have a question regarding the unit charter number below the CAP triangle. CAPR 900-2 describes the guidon on page five and figure eleven shows an illustration of the guidon. So, here's my question. Is there supposed to be a space between the state abbreviation and the first numeral? I couldn't find the specification in writing.

Thanks, Red 6

PS - I posted this on the uniform board because it seemed like the most logical place under the various sections of the forum.

Going by Figure 11 in CAPR 900-2, there is no space.

I've never seen a flag with a space.

I've never seen a flag with a space.

https://www.vanguardmil.com/products/civil-air-patrol-guidon-flag (https://www.vanguardmil.com/products/civil-air-patrol-guidon-flag) shows it with a space and if you google "Civil Air Patrol Guidon" you will see some with spaces, without spaces, and even a few dashes.

Examples:
VA 124
VA124
VA-124

If you go by CAPR 900-2 (which you should, instead of what may be shown on Vanguard's website), the correct answer is no space and no dash "VA124"
