What about all of the Cadet programs that participate in IACE?

For the most part, cadet programs in other countries are an extension of their military services and usually have nothing to do with emergency services/search and rescue, with us being the exception.

Now, I wonder what the 13 Stars symbolize in the PAC?

The website says this was founded in the 1950s?  Could someone from Brazil seen th eidea in 50s era CAP?

One website claims that there is a Civil Air Patrol like organization in 179 countries.

If you scratch the the surface a little deeper CAP does have some of its roots in what is now disaster preparedness and civil defense with the British Air Raid Protection corps.

Which would have some remarkable similarities with our own roots. An example of similar organizational evolution.

I think this is a strength of our program.  The idea that Cadets can serve a purpose beyond merely the "drill and ceremonies" and "customs and courtesies."  That adds an element..and a bit of an optional one...to being a CADET in CAP.  In fact, it may be that elements that eventually pulls me from PAO into CADET PROGRAMS.

Actually I think it was Graucho Marx that said that first (in DUCK SOUP I think), but Bugs made it famous.

I initially looked at this (looked for it) when the Major General mentioned it when first presenting the US Civil Air Patrol Tape.  I did not find it then.  When I did find it and saw that it really was identical to ours in symbolism, it left me wondering... "what is the significance of this?"

It also reminded me a bit of when the Soviets captured some B-29s and rebuilt them...complete with battle damage and repairs.

So, I wonder when the other CAPs will get a 'cease and desist' letter for obviously co-opting parts of our corporate logo?   :D ???

Rhetorical, idle musings...

V/R,

Or even worse, Brazilian CAP members will have to order from Vanguard, and pay 14.11 "Reales" for shipping! >:D

muito caro, meus amigos. . . .

Do these other CAP's also order from Vanguard?

Well now I see and support Pineda's plan.  We put our "U.S." stuff on, make the airplanes less US military, then go invade Brazil with all we've got!  SWEET!  That'll teach them to use our seal.

Thus the reason for years of all the covert ranger programs within the cadet program.

Interesting.

Give it time and the U.N. will want us all unified (not too difficult given the similarities in seals) and we'll all be be required to purchase powder blue berets.

Hmm...Global Commander, Civil Air Patrol...that's a four star post, right?

I have a .38 caliber pistol made in Brazil (Brasil?) by the Taurus Manufacturing Company that is an exact duplicate of a Smith and Wesson Chief's Special, only cheaper.

Is anybody picking up on a pattern here?

Yeah...that Taurus makes knock-offs.  Their revolvers are alright, but you should get a Springfield XD.  Especially since you are closer to Brazil and more likely to get sent first for the invasion.  I have a feeling it will be BYOW.
