Has anyone looked into plate toppers? The same kind of plates (4"X12" or 4"X10") that volunteer fire depts. use.

What would YOU be willing to pay for one? $5, $7.50, $10, $??

Meh... CAP plates.

That would be cool to get them in CA.

Our "Veteran" plates (on my parent's cars - due to my dad, USAF Vet) are butt ugly.

You get the plates, then pick the "sticker" you want from your list and stick it on there.  Pretty cheap if you ask me.  Here's the entire list

They look like someone made them up on their computer for a 6th grade art class. (Then failed the class).

Here's Texas CAP license plate... as plain vanilla as they get.

Best thing about it... it's free for active and retired CAP members.  (Used to be $10 on top of annual registration fees.) Just ordered mine; should be in the mail in a couple of weeks. (BTW that's not my actual license plate number... just a sample.)

I wish Ohio would come out with one. The only CAP license plates we have are for the corporate vehicles. Rumor has it that someone at Wing HQ many many many years ago got one someone's bad side. I'm actually gonna contact a friend of mine who works for the BMV, and find out if those plates are restricted to CAP corporate vehicles or not.

Yes, they are.

The only question I have is that in Missouri to get the cap plates you have to donate $15 and get a emblem use form, as well as be an active member. Any one from MO done this, or know how?

They were released as of today!! Just like the plates that represent the USAF, USA, USMC & USN.

Florida currently has this for the front of your vehicle, it is for emergency management personnel and Florida State Statute classifies CAP as an Emergency Management Organization.

I designed these which I am now trying to figure out how to get them to the legislator.

I found how you have to do it for a "causes" plate, but I think it should be waived from the 10,000 initial plate commitment that FL has.

Talk to whomever is the commander of the State Legislative Squadron. They're usually the ones that rub elbows best with the legislative folks.

I'm a little peeved that the registration cost for WI personalized CAP plates has gone up from about $55 to $99.

Jordan,

You'd probably have more luck getting something like this through as it's more in line with the rest of the Military Support plates. Just my $0.02, YMMV

I do sir, believe you are correct in the fact that it may be easier to get approved, however the Marine Corps just had to be different.

Florida legislators consider more specialty tags
Sunday, March 30, 2008

MIAMI (AP) - Several groups are looking for a green light for their specialty license plates, but some lawmakers want to put on the brakes on new designs.

Florida already has more than 100 different license plates celebrating everything from the oceans to organ donation and the Olympics. But this legislative session more than a half-dozen specialty license plates have been proposed.

Some lawmakers say the proliferation of the plates is a problem, but others can't seem to curb their enthusiasm for the tags.

Part of the reason for the explosion of tags is they're popular with the public, and groups come to lawmakers requesting their own designs.

But some lawmakers argue that as the number of tags increases, it becomes harder for law enforcement to quickly get information from the tag.

Those lawmakers would like to place a three-year moratorium on new plates issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Okay, being the graphic designer I am, I had to put my 2 cents worth in. I know it gets frustrating when someone gets an idea and everyone else copies it, but I got hit with inspiration and had to make it. Not from Tennessee, but seemed like a good long name to test out. Let me know what you guys think. And also of this bumper sticker I came up with too.[/img]
