In this time of limited in person meetings, what are people doing with milestone testing?
Using a web cam and something like Teamviewer, Splashtop, etc., the proctor
can login to the cadets PC and maintain compliance.
One way I've seen it done:
- Using Zoom, cadet (with parent or other responsible home observer) logs into Zoom session with testing officer.
- Using the screen share option, cadet shares screen and testing officer (taking temporary control of the screen) enters their credentials to activate exam.
- Cadet takes the exam while sharing their screen.
- Cooperation between the testing officer and the home observer help maintain test integrity.
If people think outside the box, there are probably other ways to do it, too.
Let's be clear about what the
actual requirement is versus what best practices there may be.

Closed-book milestone award exam: Virtual*, if practical, or unit emails PDF to parent or other trusted adult proctor.
* Virtual: any convenient technology such as Zoom, Skype, Facetime, Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts, teleconference, etc.
