Are there too many types of uniform? Definitely, the number of uniforms could be cut down to two. One military style uniform for formal functions/parades and a BDU for missions and every day use.

The military style uniform could be grey pants white shirt and a grey version of the air force jacket. I would include a sweater for every day use for those who did not want to wear BDU's.
BDU's could be blue or the wood land camo.

As the uniform would be totally different to the Air Force there would be no complaints from them.
The current rank badges/slides should be kept to keep the link with the Air Force.

As an ex Royal Air Force member I am very pro military uniform but the biggest gripe I hear since being in the CAP is complaints from the Air Force about what we should/shouldn't wear. Having out own distinctive uniform that is military looking should solve all the gripes and groans

This is one of those topics that will NEVER be resolved.  HQ does not have the where-with-all to really come up with a solution.  CAP is going to continue to be given a series of half hearted fixes.

Obviously not to the satisfaction of the members, or else it would not keep arising for discussion.

Instructor Disbrow

Cadet Uniforms are real Navy uniforms that are altered in their flashing to call out the USNCC

And Yes, I can verify that they are very serious when it comes to instructors "fitting" into uniforms properly.
I have started a whole new level of diet and exercise so I will be able to maintian my uniformed status!

Sea Cadets are sponsored and supported by the Navy League of the United States and have formal partnerships with both the US Navy and Coast Guard.   http://www.seacadets.org/public/mission/

While Sea Cadet adult officers wear the Navy uniform, they must meet Navy height/weight and grooming requirements or wear an alternate uniform.  http://www.seacadets.org/public/officer/trifold-faq-officer-low.pdf

So, you think the Sea Cadets have a blue blazer, gray pants, white shirt security officer style uniform as well?   ;)

Is Sea Cadet Talk full of postings about too many uniforms or not enough uniforms for the fat and fuzzy?  8)
