Title: Uniform after maintenance
Post by: sparks on July 17, 2020, 10:39:56 PM
Is a uniform required to taxi a cap aircraft from an FBO back to the cap hanger after maintenance? This is ground ops only no flying.

Really, is wearing a blue golf shirt that hard to do?

I'll be the guy to say yeah, just throw the shirt on and do it.

Ref: CAPR 70-1.
9.10. Uniform Requirements
9.10.1. Airplanes. CAP members will wear an authorized CAP uniform as outlined in CAPM 39-1, CAP Uniform Manual unless approved mission requirements dictate other attire.

Did you enter a new sortie in WMIRS to account for the tenth on Hobbs to get it back to the hangar? LOL

How close is the FBO? Get them to tug it over. No Hobbs time and plane is empty so you don't have to make that special trip back home to get a uniform to wear for the 60 second taxi.

No, because a sortie is defined by 70-1 as:

Quote from: undefinedSortie – A CAP flight activity that begins when the aircraft initiates forward movement on takeoff.

That 0.1 hours would be entered as MISC Mx time in WMIRS (Aircraft log, link at the bottom).

70-1 is clear - if you operate an airplane, wear the uniform.
