Mr. Richard Lee "Rich" Burke, 84 of Anniston, passed away peacefully  Sunday, January 16, 2022 at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Scared Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Anniston, AL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife Linda Louise Burke; and brother, Gerald K. Burke. Mr. Burke was born in Colorado and grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He retired from Anniston Army Depot with more than twenty-five years of service where he served as a fireman. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and a member of the Civil Air Patrol.
He is survived by his son Scott Burke and his wife, Juanita; his daughters, Kelly Waide and her husband Hank and Tracy Gibbs and her husband John; grandchildren, Jacob Clopton, Lacey Blackwell, Patrick Clopton, Ciara McDonald, Britney Page, Jessica Burke, Loren Bertone, Ashley Burke, Jayden Gibbs; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Burke loved his family and friends very much. He was an avid wild turkey hunter and made sure to patiently pass on his skills and talents to any and every person that was interested. It brought him great joy to watch young hunters and first time hunters experience the thrills of learning the tricks of the trade. The Civil Air Patrol was another activity that brought him great pleasure. Flying was one of his favorite things to do. He also enjoyed spending time at the Anniston Aquatic Center exercising and swimming. He was very grateful to have gained many wonderful, and some lifelong friendships throughout his favorite activities.
