To celebrate my 40th birthday, I went flying on Friday, and skydiving on Saturday.  Had a great weekend. Here's a few shots:

Happy Birthday! What a great present to give yourself for the big 4-OH! I'll have to add that to my list of things to do since I've got a year and a half to go for that myself.  ;D

Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane never did make much sense to me.  A helicopter now, that I would race you out the door of.

Sounds good to me.  I prefer UH-60's, but any jump's a good jump.

Congrats Judy!  As others have said - Welcome to the club  ;)

What club is that?  Being over 40 or jumping out of a plane?

I went white water rafting for my 40th.  Haven't decided yet what to do for my 50th in a few months.

^^Hmmm, Bungee Jump?  Bobsled?  Dogsled?  Run the Iditarod?  Run with the bulls in Pamplona?  Run with scissors?  :D

I did that last one in DC about two weeks ago. I dashed out of an office and realized I was wielding a pair of scissors like a dagger... My 1st grade teacher would have rapped my knuckles with a ruler had she seen that!

Bungee jumping?  Nah, definitely a chance you'll just be maimed and not outright killed.

Bobsledding, I'd try that.

I just saw this in here....Happy Birthday :) We have our own similar entry under aviation activities...maybe it should be moved here.

The first time I got to exercise my commercial privileges, I was in a plane that was a good bit older than me and in MUCH worse shape. I would have begged for a chute, given the condition of the plane!

Oh, and happy b-day Judy!

Happy Birthday, Fifinella.

Not long after my youngest brother turned 30, we were driving around, and spied a very young-but-well-developed teen wearing some rather revealing clothing.

He said "Do you think her mother knows she goes out like that?"

I replied "Welcome to the other side of the generation gap: before you know it, their moms will start to look good."

Shortly thereafter was my kid's first day at school: looked at a few of the mom's and made a mental note to join the PTA  >:D

When I turned 40 my friends gave me a choice:  a ticket to the Richard Petty Driving Experience, or piercing the body part of my choice.

Needless to say I went for the drive.
