I still haven't sewn on my Captain's bars. It's not that it's too painful for me to take off the Spaatz diamonds... I just haven't had much of a reason to wear BDU's lately. :)

The post beneath this one is a lie.

Sew them under the collar.

I might make fun of you but it doesn't mean I won't be jealous.

There was an AF 1 star a few years ago at ILWG Summer that was a triple diamond and wore a mini set in between his button flap on the blues.  Was pretty interesting a guy that can say he's been there done that is still proud enough to wear CAP cadet insignia earned well before his star.

Sew them under the collar.

I've heard of this done enough to think that given the limited pool of individuals with said insignia, it's relatively common.

I know of a single diamond instance here in UT. I decided not to upstage him.  >:D

Congrats on the Promotion. I am just waiting TIG for mine. Oh, and I sew my own stuff on. Have since scouts.  :D

Thanks. Well, my wife did alterations professionally, so she thinks she is retired! >:D

Well, the TIG requirement was a long wait for me too! Wondering if I would get it.

Major Lord

Just remember to keep your LT shoulder boards for your next promoting friend/squadron member. The bars for promotion should be hand me downs from a friend, in accordance with the prophecy....Congrats!

Major Lord
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

I tried saving my insignia to give to others coming behind me in promotions, but only problem is that when I was a Lt we wore the berry boards.  I told one guy that it was for a probationary promotion to see how he would do as a Lt before he got to wear the gray boards.  Didn't go over too good. >:D ;D

I have them in a Vanguard plastic bag, ready to be passed down, like the Captain rank I got from our External AEO when she made Major.

My train pulled into the platform under the leaves 3 years to the day it departed. .. now it's four more years and NSC.

Congratulations!

Nine months to go before I trade in my railroad tracks to golden bottlecaps and having farts and darts on my bus driver cap! And like some former cadinks - especially those in the 'Diamond Club' (cadet major and higher) - I wear a miniature cadet major insignia under the lapel of my service dress jacket.

Congratulations!

In the army we called them "First Lieutenant, second award."  All joking aside, wear them with pride.  Personally, I thought they looked better on BDUs than any other rank insignia.  Keep moving and learning!
