I'm a newly-minted squadron IT officer, and working toward the technician rating in the IT specialty. I've been a member of CAP for 5 months, and an electronics engineer specializing in computers for several decades.

EServices has many reports that are helpful to squadron leadership in the areas of maintaining a squadron alerting plan, making sure members are advancing and receiving the recognition they deserve, etc. But there seems to be weak areas in keeping track of changes to contact information.

In particular, I can download a spreadsheet with pretty much all the contact information I would ever want, but there seems to be no automated method to transfer this information to gmail, which our wing uses for CAP-provided email addresses. Nor is there any automated method to track changes in this information month-to-month to aid in manual changes to gmail lists.

Assuming one member had overcome these deficiencies, there is no good way to share the up-to-date gmail contact list with other squadron members unless one is a gmail administrator, and we only have gmail administrators at the wing level.

Has anyone developed any good solutions to these issues?

Standby for others to follow, with all kinds of OPSEC talk for you. Some here get funny when folks ask about transferring 'any' kind of data from services or WMIRS.
