We might view this as the multi-copter version of the Wright Flyer.  At the moment the technology isn't quite 'all weather', but neither was Wilbur's & Orville's ride.

This would appear to meet or exceed all of CAP's "unstable / single man / zero payload / 10 feet off the ground" mission mandates.

The fact that it's likely to catastrophically fail without warning is just a value-add.

All true, plus no helmet, no seat belt, and likely, no ORM or pre-takeoff safety briefing.
