Title: Does someone sell a single cloth insignia for...
Post by: celticpiping on October 31, 2014, 02:58:08 PM
Howdy,
I don;t have rank insignia on my BDU cap(2nd lt)
All I see on Vanguard is the 2x cloth rank thingy (http://2x%20cloth%20rank%20thingy)...that you have to cut in half, etc..

Does someone sell a single(nice & neatly stitched) version of this?
Maybe I'm missing something obvious..

Thanks fellas,
Rich

Buy it, cut it, fold it, attach it.

Just like collar insiginia.

P.S. I wish they sold them ready to put on...1/8th border, and folded right. Would make uniformity that much easier.

The blue cap allows for metal grade (why?).

The secret to the insignia is ironing down the folds >tight< and using iron-on sizing on the back to
make it into t tight little "puck" before sewing, and even sewing down the edges before attaching it
to the garment.  You really need a machine to do this properly.

The hats are probably the most difficult as they don't fit in the machine right, but if the insignia
is ironed down, at least it won't move.

The ironing will usually last a meeting or two in a pinch as well.

Buy the set of 2. It only cost a dollar and you never know when you'll need the spare.

Buy 3 pairs. Now you have enough for the next uniform.
