Norman R. Jones, Sr., 91, of Hazelton, formerly of Shillington, passed away January 17, 2021in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore with his loving family by his side.

He was the husband of Linda L. (Edwards) Hess Jones. They were together since 1981 and celebrated 33 years of marriage. Born in Westfield, Union County, NJ, he was a son of the late Stanley L. Jones, Sr., and Frances (Everett) Jones.

Norman was a business owner. He operated Norman R. Jones Enterprises, an auto body supply business he had taken over from his father for 20 years. He later started Pennsylvania Hospital Services and continued for 27 years, retiring in 2014. His son continues the business today. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre, a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War, member and past president of Schwenksville Rotary Club, member of the Shillington Rotary Club, Warren Lodge No. 310 F&AM – Collegeville, Rajah Shriners, and their Hillbillies, was a 2nd LT with the Civil Air Patrol, Hazelton, and a meals on wheels volunteer for 39 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 2 children – Norman R. Jones, Jr., and his wife Deborah, Barto, PA, Cynthia wife of Jack Russ, Leander, TZ, his step-children – Herbert M. Hess, II and his wife Jody, Houston, TX, Daniel Jeffrey Hess, Atlanta, GA, Jennifer wife of Robert Smith, Burlington, NC, 4 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers – Stanley, Jr., and Dwight Jones.
