Speaking of Pearl Harbor...

Wasn't it only a few years ago that the USS Ward was FINALLY credited with sinking the Jap. mini sub outside the harbor entrance in the early hours of 7 Dec.

The Ward was sunk during the war, and the surviving crew always claimed they sunk the minisub with their gunfire as it tried to sneak into the harbor behind the Navy tug Antares.  The Navy credited them with "Damaged and probable sinking," but never confirmed it.

Some researchers found the minisub on the bottom of the Pacific, exactly where the Ward reported the action.
