Most everyone who has attended the Illinois Wing Flight Encampment or its modern version the Johnson Flight Academy in the last 20 or 30 years will probably recognize the person in this picture. I found it doing a Google image search for "Civil Air Patrol aircraft". LtCol Lalumendre, I'm not sure of that spelling, has been one of the IPs for years and years. He was there when I went in 1981 and still there in the early 2000's when I went back for a visit. He may still be there.

Wow, Lt Col Lalumendre!  Thanks for this blast from the past!  He was my IP when I was a Power cadet back in 19-uhruhfruh, cough, cough.

Another notable IP of mine was _the_ Lt Col Raymond J. Johnson, for whom Flight Encampment was named.  He was my Balloon IP the year before I went to Power.

I hope they're both still going strong with CAP.  One of these summers I need to get back to _Matt_oon and visit...
