Jacquelyn (Jackie) Lee Peters Floyd-Stonebraker, 83, of Loveland, Colorado passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday Oct 22, 2020.

Jacquelyn was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on April 29, 1937 to Clarence and Marion Peters. She graduated from Central High School located in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1955. She joined Civil Air Patrol (auxiliary of the United States Air Force) in March 1954 at the age of sixteen as a Cadet. Jacquelyn met her first husband David L Floyd in 1954 in Civil Air Patrol, where they both attended the same High School and got married in Sept 1956 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They had three children – Mark, Shawn and Tamara.

During Jacquelyn's time in C.A.P. she held numerous senior ranking roles and earned many top outstanding awards that included certificates from graduating Squadron Officer School, Corporate Learning Course, Region Staff College, National Staff College, Air War College and Air Command at the Air University in Alabama. She also received many Certificates of Proficiency, Certificates of Accomplishments, Exceptional Service Awards, Commander's Citations, and Meritorious Service Awards. Notable outstanding achievements included the Southwest Region Senior Member of the Year, Outstanding Female Senior of the Year Award and Texas Wing Outstanding Information Officer of The Year. She reached the Senior rank of Colonel and attained the position of Deputy Region Commander within the organization. After serving 50 consecutive years in C.A.P. she was made a permanent member.

In addition to Civil Air Patrol, Jacquelyn greatly enjoyed time with her family and participating in her children's activities, often holding positions within the organizations. She loved to travel, earned her Real Estate License, earned her Private Pilot's License and enjoyed flying with her first husband David, who was also a private pilot.

Jacquelyn worked for Rice University while living in Houston, Texas, worked for 3M Company while living in Dallas, Texas and then with her husband David at Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum, Inc. (HOK) in Nampa, Idaho, holding many committee positions throughout her career within each company. She was widowed in August 2001. She met Melvin (Stoney) Stonebraker in Civil Air Patrol and they were married in Oct 2002, gaining three step-children – Susan, Crystina and John from that marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger sister Janis M Hiemstra, and her first husband David L Floyd. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, her younger brother Larry C Peters (Dorothy) of Titusville, Florida, her children Mark A Floyd (Gloria) of Upland, California, Shawn L Floyd (Sovannarat) of Rowlett, Texas and Tamara A Floyd Ponthier of Richardson, Texas, three step-children Susan Kirmaier (Mike) of Longmont, Colorado, Crystina Kluth of Moxee, Washington, and John Stonebraker (Brandi) of Brighton, Colorado, 3 grandchildren – Ryan, Julia, Ethan, 13 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren.
