John N. Grillot, age 86, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away at 2:02 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2018, in the ER at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville.

John was born December 10, 1931, in Darke County to the late Robert L. and Esther N. (Burkett) Grillot. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, David Grillot.

John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ellen C. (Pleiman) Grillot, whom he married September 1, 1955; children, John C. and Lori Grillot of Sidney, Gary Grillot of Russia, Pat and Yukari Grillot of San Jose, California, and Kathy and Mat Van Etten of Covington; grandchildren, Jason Grillot, Jeff Grillot, Brian Grillot, Nicole Minnich and Abby Ball; 13 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jean Grillot of Covington; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Laverne Homan of Coldwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Elson Ford of Versailles and Sidney where he was the parts and service manager. John was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. He was a very active member of the Versailles American Legion and V.F.W. where he served as record-keeper. John was an active member of the Versailles Veteran's Honor Guard.
