While checking for information on the 2020 NSC, I found a statement that this is the last class.. Also that when the new PD program is set up that NSC credit for level V will be lost. Anyone aware of what the new program will entail?

As I understand it RSC and NSC will be going to some form of online learning. I don't see how they would say "You took NSC in 2020 but we're not going to count it for your Wilson in 2022."

I saw that, and was surprised by it, too. I applied since it's the only thing I need for Level V. We'll see how it goes. It does stink if you're already working on Level V but won't complete it in time.

Answer: That's up to you, but once the sunset of the legacy program finishes in early 2021 for Level V, NSC will no longer count towards Level V completion.

^ If you've already completed NSC, and can't get LV completed in the next year, you're probably
not active enough to care.

The majority of invested field grade officers in CAP knock out the LV requirements as a matter of their normal duties,
and / or have enough history banked to just need to fill out the form. Other then the NSC requirement, it's probably the easiest level to accomplish.

If the result of the revamp is the ability to complete LV without an in-residence SC, sounds like a move in the right direction.

Seriously, the ratio in the staff colleges of "people learning" to "experienced members already doing the jobs they are being "trained" for
and just checking an expensive box" have to be like 20 / 80.

If they required these schools before you could take a job, that'd be a different story.

Sorry to go a little off topic, but  I've heard tons of rumors about this "revamp" but can't find anything anywhere. Does anyone know anything?

Looks like summer of 2020. 

From what I am hearing, all the Pro Dev classes will end up online.

SLS, CLC, RSC, NSC, ect....

It's more than just "online". There will be in-person components, things that need to be submitted and graded, etc, as part of the overall completion of each level, that sort of thing. (I know peripherally the details, not all the specifics)

So completing a level will still require certain amounts of  "education and training" delivered in various ways, but not a week long in residence staff college.

So if all of the courses move online, how will that affect the ability to "serve in a director or staff member capacity in a CAP approved course." You'll be facilitating the online courses?

Also, there are way more plentiful courses at a more local level to fulfill that requirement then NSC.  SLS, CLC, UCC, CSOC, RSC, Wing, Region, and NHQ Course including encampments, NESA, ICS-300/400, NCPS, MFC/MFC, PCT, CISMT, ICI&PT, GCI, PCI, ACI, CERT, First Aid, NOCAT, CCRSC, TLC, NLOC, CIGC, to name a few...
