I cannot figure out....how do I enter the Activity/Service Ribbons (not F120 awards) into e-Services for OTHER members (of the unit)?

I figured out how to enter my own (clicking on Service Ribbons on the right-hand side pull-down for myself).

I am both an Admin and Personnel Officer with those restricted apps.

Shouldn't this be a function of Admin or Personnel?  Making sure all the ribbons and badges are updated for the unit?

These are the ribbons I'm talking about.  It worked for MINE.  I'm trying to put in cadet ribbons like Red Service, Community Service, etc., for other members under my Admin and Personnel duties:

You can only request your own to be added. There aren't permissions for admin or even commanders to add the awards. I suspect that this may be because not all wings have the same awards delegated to unit commanders so the eServices permissions can't be universal.

I hope that we eventually get to the point where paper CAPF2A's are a thing of the past and all awards are processed in eServices.

With that said, I'm not complaining, eServices has come a long way over the years.

I can't think of any good reason why it shouldn't be available, really.  It's there and functional to put in your own.  Most of my awards are in there now.

I was also trying to figure out what application I need to input ratings and badges in the Operations section (for the rest of the unit... I know that I can request my own).

I would really like to see the ability to enter BADGES (other than just the ES ones).  For one thing, for cadets, we should be able to enter the:
Communications (Tech, Senior, Master-level badges and the Comm patch),
Information Technology (Tech-level badge),
Historian (Tech-level badge),
Cyber,
STEM,
Emergency Medical Technician, and
Model Rocketry badges.

For SMs, we should have, at-a-glance, their Command Badge (sq and group), National Board, Command Council, NEC, SAG, Chaplain, Medical Officer, Nurse Officer, EMT, and Legal Officer.

Currently, the only specialty badge we can enter for cadets is Emergency Services.

I've been entering some of my past activities to e-Services, so I have an electronic record to refer to online (also giving me...and the other staff...the ability to track stuff like my bunches o' find credits).  I don't care for the alphabetical-only sorting, but it's better than nothing:

Are there that many people who search for your find credits? I mean sure, I'm happy you participated in a Find. Thanks for your effort. Got the ribbon. Done deal.  But who is always looking for these credits of yours?

Nobody.  It is a reference and on-going count to find out where I am when it comes to earning attachments.  So the Admin/Personnel staff, and CD, and CC would use that documentation at-a-glance when awards are up.  We are going to be getting SQTR-type tracking of specialty track tasks.  It's good to have centralized data on where I am towards the next Search and Rescue ribbon attachment, the next find attachment, etc.  It's not like a bunch of people in the unit are going to go browsing my activities just for fun.  But now I know, from an online-accessible reference, where I am for earning ribbons and such.

I think it's a good wish list to say that it would benefit for commanders to be able to add ribbons to a member's profile to keep them updated accurately. Something we have in the digital age is the ability to instantaneously correct paper-based errors.

You do have to be cautious, however, with adding unverified items. But I think we do a better job today than we used to do with tracking these things.

However, really, it's a wish list for now. I don't know how long before we see the ability for commanders to be able to update the member's ribbons. It's probably of a lower priority.

eServices does a nice job tracking just about everything, but not so great with how it's displayed or where you can find the information. It's quite scattered. Sort of like how cadet duty positions are under the training section, and training is listed under the achievements section, and your professional development awards are listed under training and not awards. It can be tough to follow.

Something CAP has done very well in emulating the military is the admin process. I think very few service members can say that their service record was perfectly documented on their DD214. CAP really doesn't do any justice to that.

But I digress...
