Has anyone used these in the field?

I've drooled over them before. Not had the chance to purchase any yet.
Any specific use you had in mind?

They look like a good option for an emergency strobe in an aircrew survival vest.  Light, long life, likely impact resistant, very bright and highly visible under low light conditions.  Ditto for a ground team.  Their lack of flammability would be a lot better than flares.

I got a half dozen of them as stocking stuffers. They're neat ltitle lights, but not as bright as I'd expected. In low light conditions they work fairly well as marker lights. I don't know if I'd trust them for use as a life saving strobe, though.

I was thinking of them being useful as either chem-light alternatives or personal marking devices when walking in the dark.
