Remember when it was a big deal that the cadet physical fitness program was re-written? Is it ever going to be implemented? First it was summer 2016, then first quarter of 2017...

Search is your friend, it's been discussed here numerous times.

The release is pending the re-numbering of regulations, pamphlets, and other documents.

The reality is that the release is probably on hold pending updates to the Cadet Promotions
module as it does not currently have the ability to recognize the new system, leaving those CCs
on the "Beta" program having to manually track performance and fudge promotions into the
existing system
efficiently check a box within a system incapable of properly tracking the information.

Edit: fixed.

As one of those commanders, there is no 'fudging' the promotion. We track it manually, and check the box for  "Beta program requirements met", after everything else has been entered and submitted.

Is there really any reason for anything beyond checking the box in the event of a "Go"?  It's not like you're going to click and pull up the cadet's pushup history or something.

This is easy, doesn't require discerning between old and new CPFTs, etc.  The only downside I see so far is units testing the new system can't easily print off a scoresheet with each cadet's information and minimum standards prefilled.

We enter full scores and track progress, much better then "passed".

I found this page out of Arkansas and was impressed.  Stole and adapted the score sheet --

http://nwacap.com/cadets/cpft/

We are now doing a team sports effort on our PT nights, including an adaptation of Foursquare which is a great game for them (Volleyball, kickball, and Ultimate Frisbee being the other sports).  Our first time doing Foursquare was quite eye-opening.  The beta program is good.  We are discovering that these cadets desperately need to do sports that require hand-eye coordination since in many cases, they don't do organized school sports, and just doing the CPFT once a month (old program), doesn't promote that skillset.

I'm moving towards challenging some of the local squadrons on Foursquare to stir some more interest.  Some very cool videos available on the Tube of You also.  http://www.squarefour.org  for the basic rules and other discussion.
