Was the DEW Line a Air Force operated system?  Or was this system operated by the Army as part of the missile defense system?

RRLE

The Air Force ran the Texas Towers that were part of the Atlantic Barrier, which was an extension of the DEW Line. TT-4 collapsed, 28 airman and civilians died, and it is now a dive site.

BarPac and BarLant were Navy missions.  My father flew BarPac EC-121's out of Barber's Point.

I lived in Argentia for two years, and watched out my bedroom window to see the Willy Victors flying out and back.
