No word on specs yet, but if you're planning on upgrading flight sim hardware, you might want to hang on till the specs come out.

About darn time. However unless it goes heavy into native VR support, I doubt I would go for it. I ended up getting X-Plane and pairing it with a Rift and it's definitely has been a joy. I even brought it along to a meeting and everyone enjoyed it immensely, even the airline pilots!

That and having to wait until middle of next year I think. Depending on how Xplane goes with moving to Vulcan, it might be best for those already invested in XPlane to not switch

Love the Rift setup.

I'm happy with my FSX VR rig. It's buggy since it's third party software, but when it works, it's awesome. We use it for CAP sim time quite often.

Have you checked out XP11 yet on VR? I tried FSX using Fly-Inside and it was alright but as you said, buggy and a bit of a pain in my butt to use. XP, since it's native VR, has been a much better experience for me.

We use X-Plane at work (Flight Data Recorder replays). I've tinkered with it a few times from a hobby/recreation side. I'm more partial to FSX (via Fly Inside) than X-Plane mostly because of the add-ons I have for FSX. Maybe I'm just not as familiar with X-Plane enough. I feel like I've been able to do more with FSX.

Gent from my squadron has created a thing called "Copilot X" (http://www.appropel.com/)

And there's https://planecommand.com/ and Voice Commander https://xplane.amisinformatique.com/

All of these are handy because you can say "Flaps 10" or "Gear up" and don't have to be hunting around (physically, with VR gogs on your face) for a switch that only exists virtually.

Spaceman3750

The video seemed to gloss over the "Xbox Exclusive" bit that I'm pretty sure I saw when I watched last night.

That might not be a terrible thing, capable Xbox consoles are cheaper than capable gaming PC's, but it's still something to note.

My money is on the "Xbox compatibility" being Project Scarlet, or so bare-bones as to be only technically
playable (akin to running the old FS on the "minimum specs").

A couple of other things.

- A fair amount of whining online that if it isn't fully VR compatible (doubtful) it will fail (which I would tend to agree with, especially
considering it's a least a year away.

- If it does start at Meigs, it's not Flight Simulator.

You can also LAN two PCs together and have a Pilot Flying and Pilot Monitoring.
