Michael Wayne Bronson, 69, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 11th, in Johnson City, TN surrounded by his family.
Mike was born in Petersburg, VA and settled with his loving wife, Mary, in Winchester, VA where they gracefully raised four daughters. He spent his professional life working as a firefighter and medic with Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and as a Deputy for Winchester City Sheriff's Department. In Mike's spare time, he was a Reserve Deputy for Frederick County Sheriff's Department, a Commander with the Winchester Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol, and a Fire Fighting Instructor.
Upon retirement Mike and Mary moved to West Virginia to complete Mike's Bachelor's Degree in Native American Studies at West Virginia University and to spoil their grandchildren. After graduation, they moved to Johnson City, TN to further enjoy retirement and more grandchildren. Mike and Mary were blessed to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary together with family and friends shortly before his passing.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Walter Bronson, Sr and Nancy Venable. He is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughters Tiffany Watson (wife, Adah), Katherine Latham (husband, Eric; children McKenna and Campbell), Kelley Lemons (husband, Scott; children, Jackson and Jonathan), and Mary Bronson; and siblings Marguerite Mixon, Walter Bronson Jr, Mary Elizabeth Quick, Ruth Ann Venable-Campbell, Edgar Paul Venable, and David Venable.
