Greetings All,

I was just reading up on how to enroll in an AFIADL course and found some info I thought I would share.  I know some of you have already done all of these you're going to; but, I thought I would share my discovery in the chance that sometime in the future you find  yourself talking to a new member about AFIADL courses.

As it turns out, the AFIADL has an online form that you can fill out to enroll in the course you need.  The form is at http://www.maxwell.af.mil/au/cf/auregistrar/cfrr/AU23.pdf   For this you'll need the course number and title of the course you want to take. This can be found in the Air University catalog at http://www.maxwell.af.mil/au/afiadl/curriculum/catalog/pdf/printcatalog.pdf  You'll also need the "Test Control Facility" zip code and "SHRED" number.  There is a spreadsheet which lists all of these numbers at http://www.maxwell.af.mil/au/afiadl/registrar/tcflisting.xls Simply select "Civil Air Patrol XX WG" from the appropriate drop down to find your wing.  They also insist that you include the 4 digit route number in your zip code; if you don't know this, you can look your address here: http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp

Once you have all the information entered in this form, simply click on the submit button and it's then emailed to the AFIADL.  Pretty slick eh?

Regards,

MIKE

I don't recommend e-mailing the AU IMT 23... Tried it for AFIADL 00013.  Got results when it was faxed to the most current commercial fax number that I got off the CAP Knowledgebase.

I emailed mine in today.

What's the usual turn around time for those who have faxed their form 23 in?  Also, what happens after that? Do they send you a book or what?

MIKE

Give them around a week to send you an AU IMT 9 confirming enrollment... Then they will send you another one sometime after saying that your course materials are on the way.

Edit:  And they will send you books plural... AFIADL 00013 is four volumes.

Usually a week to ten days to receive the post card saying you're enrolled. Books arrive in another week to ten days, unless the course you signed up for doesn't have any, like SOS (00028).
