I searched and this particular product hasn't been covered... Been looking for some water resistant writing surface since we've been covering floods and rain in the board...

Seems to be the winner for the coolest low tech notepad.  They have ICS forms and all kinds of "pre-printed layouts"..

I think I will order one for my new notepad cover that is coming...

I just bought an all weather mini pad from Streichers the other week.  Helps to have the store about 20minutes away!

If you call and sweet talk them they will send you a promo pack to try

Mine had the sar notepad

a packet of the printer paper

and a few pieces of the map paper

Just about every MCSS sells these notepads. Swing by a military base.

They are great products.

They also have custom printing.  Let's say we had a vendor for CAP supplies that didn't suck.  We'd be able to get cool custom CAP covers and all.

That, or we could have a covert bulk CAPTalk purchase.   ;)

A couple of tips:

In dry weather it doesn't much matter what you write with, but in active, real rain, etc., use a pencil or a space pen. (the click pens they sell are space pens).

If you buy the laser paper you can't use it in an inkjet ('cause ink is...liquid).

Having CAP forms, especially things like ICS log forms, etc., on Rite-in-Rain, is real nice - it means you'll actually have something readable at the end of the day.

I put one of these notebooks through the washing machine once. little warped, but still usable and readable.

Rite in the Rain, the one I got was a military promotion, but still free and awesome.

The SAR notebook was less impressive than you might think.  It was a regular pocket sized lined notepad.  But it had a cool map scale, map legend, and such on the covers.

And in the back there was maybe a dozen pages of "interrogation" forms.

I haven't really seen much of their custom stuff that fits CAP's needs...

That's why they call them custom.  I seriously considered having them make a half size book with  73's, 109's, 106's, and those other pesky forms.

They will make just about anything you want

Style Guides and web apps maybe...Updates - Good luck.  It took two years to get an updated staff list from wing HQ, which didn't even include the assistants and such.   :-\

How about writing down your problems on a write-in-the-rain notepad, and sending it to me.  That way I can CRY all over it for you!!!   >:D >:D
