F-35 Disabled by Bird or Old 1960s Missile

A F-35 was either disabled by a bird or an old Soviet S-200 (SA-5) missile built in the 1960s. Israel says a bird and Syria says the 50 year old missile. Either ways, this is evidence that the $90 million dollar plane is overpriced and a very poor use of money.

Russian military doctrine calls for several S-500s to be used against the F-35 with many dozens of Pantsirs shot at the same time for as long as it takes to knock down the plane. Since the F-35 was taken out by either the bird or a single 50 year old missile from a third world country, it is doubtful it would last long against the stockpiles of modern Russian missiles.

On top of the missiles Russian would sent up modern attack aircraft.

Does anyone think the F-35 can avoid Russian defenses?

QuoteEven assuming the F-35I was the aircraft targeted over Lebanon, the chances of it being hit by an SA-5 are very slim, and the bird strike now being reported by the IAF supposedly occurred two weeks ago with the aircraft being grounded since awaiting a Lockheed team's inspection and subsequent advice on how to best repair it.

Considering the F35 isn't even operational yet...  i highly doubt this story..
