There are two type of people in PA:  those who think that the deer around here are cute adorable little Bambi's and they're so cute and sweet and oh-so-huggable and those mean people who hunt them are horrible monsters.  The other type of people are those who have lived in PA more than six months and want to see the little creatures hunted to near-extinction.

Deer are scary as hell if you're on a motorcycle. They'll broadside you just as easily as run in front of you, and the former doesn't allow for any emergency braking.

We had a big problem with them at NAS Lakehurst. At least one government vehicle a year would hit a deer. There are large wooded areas on the base, some of which are open to hunting in season. Of course, the deer would move to the "safe" areas during hunting season, and become pests. This was exacerbated by drivers not observing the speed limits, making it harder to avoid the deer.

I hit one in Germany with my MGA and it wasn't fun.  I survived, but the deer didn't.
