Good morning, I was wondering if it is frowned upon to start writing your Essay when you are only a C/SSgt, the way I see it is I am setting a goal to one day stand in front of my squadron giving my speech to them about one of the 3 different subjects. My next question is does anyone know of a format or any resources I could use to help me write the essay.

Thank you,

That would be your Armstrong essay. Info here.

The speech and the essay are different items. You don't just read the essay out loud.

Nothing stops you from doing it now, but given that it's meant to be at least 6-8 months from now, the extra experience in that time will no doubt make it a better essay.
