I'm setting up my GT gear and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for a low budget vest for my 24 Hr. gear. Specifically where I should look for said vest. and remember: LOW BUDGET. Thanks all.

Don't get a vest at all since you are required to wear an orange vest over it which defeats the purpose of the tactical vest.

Not if you get an orange "tactical" vest.

Orange is no longer sufficient, it now needs to be ANSI III compliant. Read the new safety regulation.

ANSI III (3), or just ANSI II (2)?

The lower spec stuff is sans sleeves, the higher spec stuff has sleeves to meet the higher reflective/contrast area requirement.

ANSI III (3), it doesn't necessarily have to have sleeves.

ANSI 2 not ANSI 3. Please see 62-1. It can not have sleeves if worn over an AF uniform.

Show me an ANSI III garment upper body garment without sleeves, please. The specification requires a specific minimum area of reflective material, and contrast material. A sleeveless garment does not have sufficient overall area to accomplish this.

OK here is an answer actually related to the original post-

I use the Arktis brand vest. I bought it off ebay for 60 bucks and i actually love it.  Just remember to buy a hydration system or a couple canteens to go with it.
