Hello All.
I am a C/SSgt in a strugeling squadron. I have chosen to transfer to a near by squadron. I will be telling my Cadet Deputy Commander about my decision next Monday at our meeting. Does anyone have any advice for talking to my DCC? The reason I'm leaving is our Squadron is on the verge of falling apart but I feel disrespectful telling my DCC that. Any advice would be welcome.
Just be honest and upfront. As long as you're respectful about it, they'll appreciate the feedback.
Since your unit is posted in your profile, he might already know.
Bear in mind too the losing CC does not have to approve the transfer either.

He's got to have cause to deny the transfer....but yes.

As others have said, honesty is always your best plan. Be polite, be professional, be prepared to answer awkward questions.

This is an issue in many squadrons. I'll point out there are many senior members on this board that have bemoaned the loss of their file, in many cases simply because no one told them about it.

Perhaps the C/SSgt didn't recognize the term personal file as it is a personnel file
I'll echo what everyone else has said and just be honest and up front, but stay respectful. And please do remember your paperwork, as others have also stressed. I neglected to grab mine during a PCS while in the Air Force and by the time I was able to call back to the wing mine had already been misplaced. So, all of my mission numbers and a good amount of other information going back to my Cadets days is gone for good.

Which again points to something that should be basic knowledge by cadets at that achievement.
In the squadrons I have been, the Personnel/Admin officer has a cadet working on the personnel files under his/her supervision. If not naming a Cadet Personnel Officer or NCO.

Sorry, apparently he made a typo then fixed. Do not know if the cadet responded to the original message with the typo or after his correction. If the cadet in question did responded to the original message I am wrong.
Still, cadets should become familiar with this administrative aspect as well...
