Title: CAP in WWII (here we go again)
Post by: Cliff_Chambliss on June 30, 2014, 01:25:59 PM
Just finished reading Samuel Elliot Morison's excellent book "Two Ocean War".  There is a section (actually only a few paragraphs) talking about the CAP Anti-Sub Activities in WWII.  While he addresses the multiple sightings of German U-Boats, he makes the statement that although some attacks were made CAP did not make any kills.  However, he goes on to comment on just how many shipwrecked survivors were spotted and saved as a result of CAP Activities.  He also offers generous praise for the dedication and performance of the CAP members.
