Title: CAP participation in military training exercises
Post by: RiverAux on December 29, 2006, 08:18:42 PM
For quite a few years the Alaska Wing has been participating in the annual Northern Edge exercise.  This has usually gotten them a notice in CAP News.

Here is a pdf file of a presentation outlining the 2007 version (does mention CAP among the players): http://ftp.ak-prepared.com/homelandsecurity/pdf/Alaska%20Shield%2007%20Blue%20Playe.pdf (http://ftp.ak-prepared.com/homelandsecurity/pdf/Alaska%20Shield%2007%20Blue%20Playe.pdf)

Have any other Wings been regularly taking part in major military exercises of this nature?

GREAT JOB ALASKA

This is exactly the kind of event that CAP needs to be involve in to be considered a viable asset.  If anyone from Alaska is on the board I have a question.

Will you support this event in your title 10, or Title 32 Capacity?  I see tasking requests from both sides of the system.

Are you guys involved in the planning of the event?  Iowa has found that more relationships are forged at these planning meetings than in any other capacity.

I just skimmed the article.  I will take it back and try to digest it.
