If only we had wifi or internet access of any kind at the squadron...

We'll be showing Apollo 13 for this months "5th week movie night," as I discovered to my horror that most of the cadets hadn't seen it.

We've done "movie night" with our unit before.  Apollo 13, The Right Stuff, Twelve O'Clock High, and October Sky have been popular.

I'll have to watch this one.

You could always record it at home and bring it in on CD/DVD/VHS

That is a great idea for 5th week meetings.  I may have to try that.

I enjoyed that this link produced a link to "Speed and Angels"

Amazing.

Might have to do that one.

I know this is a bump, but it's relevant.

On the Speed and Angels movie, how bad is the language?

I plan to show it at the squadron, so I need to make sure it's not horrible vulgar. I will watch it before showing at CAP, but I want to make sure I'm not wasting my time by planning this movie.

MIKE

Some of the content I would term less than appropriate for squadron viewing.  Definitely above PG-13 IMO.

Plan B, then- how about Flyboys?

Judging from the length, I'd have to shorten it a bit (skip scenes), but once again, is it appropriate?

DBlair

Oh no... it says this has expired and is no longer available. :(

You.
Are.
Kidding!!!!!!!!

My flash drive corrupted the file, so instead of a movie night we did Team-Building exercises.

I didn't check Hulu because it was broken, or so I thought!  >:(

Obviously just frustrated, not in
any way directed at CAP members.

I've calmed a bit, and will add that the TB exercises were really fun for the cadets, and I enjoyed being in charge of that. Survival scenario, rank the items you have salvaged in order of importance.
Heh. I was proud none of them so much as suggested drinking the whiskey. ;D

We watched October Sky this last meeting, and the cadets and parents loved it. Lots of positive feedback. Kinda timely, too- we're fielding a TARC team, and as it was quoted, "this might be like what you'll experience, but probably with a lot less of the explosions" ..
