I'm looking to buy 4 pair of the old style Lt Col epaulets, and not the new style that vanguard has been putting out.

I'm also looking to buy 1 or 2 pairs of the same old style Lt. Col. epaulets.

The more I see the issues, the happier I am that I got mine ages ago.  I randomly found someone
selling a "kit" of stuff on eBay, all olde school bookstore stuff, some of it brand new.  No idea if
the guy left CAP after making it, or bought it and never made it.

I am curious what is wrong with the current ones. I have recently purchased some Maj epaulets which I have just compared to my 30+ years old AF ones. The CAP ones are about 1/4 inch shorter. They are wider so they will fit on the blues and the sewing is a bit sloppy at the bottom but seem ok to me.

Different materials, different thread counts in the embroidery, in some cases very poor detail
in the insignia or poo fill-in.

It's really hit or miss.  My bookstore-era sleeves are definitely a thicker material and have richer colors
then what is produced today.  From 10 feet it might not be obvious, but side-by-side you can see it,
some worse then others.

When I was promoted to Major I was so upset by the quality of the Epaulets that vanguard produced that I went and found someone giving away their old ones and made arrangements to get Lt.Col Epaulets a few years in advance to avoid looking for good ones a few years from now.

Poo pretty much describes most of their stuff, fill-in or otherwise.

I may have some remaining in ColganMart.  I will have someone look for me (having difficulty moving heavy and large boxes due to medical stuff) ASAP.

Since ColganMart prices are so good, I quickly sold out of most of my supply.  Plus, I donated to some needy cadets.

I also have to check with my neighbor to see if they're still willing to mail stuff out for me now that they're back.  Give me a couple days.

Do you require Velcro (lightweight blue jacket at a minimum) or plain?

Both would be nice, but primarily looking for the plain.

We checked.  I don't seem to have any more Lt Col epaulets.  I do have a number of 2d Lt epaulets, as well as some ultramarine 2d Lt insignia and 2d Lt GoreTex parka tabs.

Thanks for checkin . I certainly hope to not have need of the second lieutenant insignia ever again.

I am going to make them available.  I also have a 1st Lt set, ES patches and I believe some NESA patches.

You'll need to add your information and get it submitted to your CC.  Good luck.  If you want, I'll write you a recommendation letter.

As tempting as that offer is, I am still a Major with 6 days time in grade for lt Col. If it came down to insignia, I'd stay put, than go dow . Just saying.

As I am pleased with the offerings (shocking, I know) from Scamguard Vanguard, I am no longer in the market for these.
