Part of the fun of a nickname is that it's earned/created/coined by those/that, that it represents. Assigning them ahead of time, in the dark, etc., takes most of the fun and relationship out of it.

Delta Darts...

The F-106 All-Weather Interceptor which flew 1960-1980, replaced by the F-15. Then flew with some ANG units, after that some converted to target drones... And after an encampment, some participants look like drones!
