By sundown today, there will be at least 3 pages of comments on this blog, CAP people wanting to know when they can order their own Stetsons(in AF blue).

Will there be a CAP Distinctive equivalent?

Gray?  With a maroon hat band that reflects?

...or gray with ultramarine blue cords?

But no full size metal rank!

You mean we can't wear CAP wings and/or a GT badge with full-size metal rank insignia? lol

CAP wings will be legal, but no US Military badges that have been earned.  Unearned badges can continue to be worn.

Sadly sounds about right for CAP.

Oh, and I wonder how many members are getting excited at the thought of this...

BTDT. Got the T-shirt. It says "CHARLIE DON'T SURF!!!!!

Bring me my Stetson. I love the smell of Napalm in the morning.

When this all started this morning, I predicted three pages of comments.  Somewhat to my dismay, it only went to two pages.  You guys are slipping.

We got three yet?

Anyway,  if the Army went to that thing, I'd quit. Between personal history with soldiers of 1st Cav, and their history, I wouldn't want anything to do with a uniform item related to them.

Major Carrales

This is obviously a lie...everyone knows their going to COLONIAL TRICORNS!!!

Hey, the Stetson works for me. I'd prefer Blaze Orange, but you know how that goes.

Before I read the last two comments, I was going to say the same thing. I think the CAP "Ragers" look better though LOL!
CAP is what you make of it. If you don't put anything in to it, you won't get anything out of it.

April Fools or not, I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't discussions going on now about this very issue.

a) I highly, HIGHLY doubt that there is any HQDA-level discussion about Cav hats. ( Its a known fact that they don't let cav troopers serve at any level higher than "squadron" anyway.  /me runs and hides.)

b) I totally missed this on Friday, and man, I'm really bummed.  Thats _classic_ and a great example of the Army not taking itself too seriously.

c) I am currently wearing a shirt that says "2nd International Nha Trang Open Surf Competition." The president of the college I worked at, who was a HUGE Apocalypse Now fan, saw it one day when he was out shopping and he bought it, knowing I'd get the joke.  I got summoned to the president's office the next day and all the way I'm thinking "what did I do?" Well, you can imagine the laugh we got out of that one. So truly, Charlie does surf.

A black Stetson with the latest version of the Army Blue uniform would be a hoot.  I started with pinks and greens in ROTC, then all the iterations of the Greens, with Blues and Whites on special occasions.  Don't own a single one of any of them and my CAP polo shirts are in storage.

If they did that, you can expect to see a gag order put in place on Cav Scouts Army wide.  But then again no one thought they would switch over to all wearing a black beret taken from Rangers and then have them slapped with a gag order to prevent them from expressing their discontent with the decision made to take their headgear.

I detest the black beret... one of the worst decisions the Army ever made. Give it back to the Rangers and let us regular joes wear a patrol cap.

You talking about all those berets that are probably still sitting in a warehouse in Pennsylvania because they weren't a "Buy American" purchase, and were never issued because of it? Yeah, real money saver there.
