Representative Charlie Dent of PA, just said he's against the Border Wall, and has suggested in the past, and believes now, that some areas can have a fence and "the Civil Air Patrol can be used to aerially monitor other parts".
What a small world.
The most impressive part of that sentence if that a Rep knows what CAP is.
Time to put the "U.S." back on the uniforms.
If CAP is going to be doing border surveillance then they better put some armor on the bottom of the planes because they will be shot at.

We already wear "U.S." on our uniforms. On the Service Dress jacket...

We do border surveillance already. It's called Counter Drug.
Dent has been a friend of CAP for quite a while. He views the org as a good and inexpensive force multiplier. A more interesting question is how the funding will flow and any Posse Comitatus questions will be addressed.

If the "fake" policy draft regarding NG is a guide...This would fall under DHS, not law enforcement. *Shrug*

It depends on how it's presented. They could always call them Title 36 missions and it would avoid the PCA prohibitions.

Ive flown more than my fair share out of a particular So Cal Airport...... Absolutely not a solution. But great that someone thinks so. Without the people on the ground who can land and point guns, CAP is virtually worthless on the border. At least that's what my silver clasp on my CD ribbon tells me.

Why you planning to sue me?
