Nice Powerpoint. However, on the sixth slide, short field technique I have reservations about two recommendations:
• Hold the brakes while setting takeoff power with yoke slightly aft of neutral to keep weight off nose wheel
• After brake release, vary elevator control as necessary to maintain slightly nose high sight picture
Both will unnecessarily increase the wing angle of attack, resulting in increased drag... not what we want when we have a short runway. The recommendations are highly appropriate for a soft field takeoff, but not for a hard surface short runway.
