can cadet a cadet airman basic wear CAP acronym chevrons on thier blues uniform and BDU's? Thanks!
Not anymore
Just a blank collar for C/AB
National removed that requirement a few years ago based on the fact that they cost $4.50 and once the Curry Achievement was passed, they wouldn't have a need for them until they became cadet Officers.

That wasn't really a thing was it??? :o
Its a new thing - to replace the Triangle Thingy. Like it? Its being wear tested now on the new ABUs and websites everywhere.
Hyuck yuk.

This is brilliant. Can we get a limited edition insignia with "75th anniversary" on there somewhere?
The only way this could be worse is if we used it as a hat device. CAP on a cap....

Paul Harvey had a bit years ago talking about Civil Air Patrol where he commented something to the effect that it was worrying that his pilot had CAP on his cap.
The only reason I could see having some sort of insignia for a grade that doesn't have one is to distinguish between a SMWOG and C/AB. No, not all senior members are older and easily recognizable and not being a cadet.
I think, if anything, seniors without grade should have a CAP lapel or something to show that they're seniors. *shrugs*

Jeez, give me time...I'm not home from work yet...
Realistically...why did we have the CAP cutout for C/ABs instead of...just the shield?
Dude we should design C/AB chevrons and propose them to the national commander. We could gain support by putting a picture showing our support in the signature, like the popular idea, "KILL THE TRIANGLE THINGY".
:)

Or not.
;)
That thing needs the olde cutouts, with the periods.
Or even better, the olde cadet cutouts - C.A.P.C.

Cadet 574006,
Congratulations on becoming a Civil Air Patrol cadet. I've had a little fun with your original post, but you deserve kudos for looking into proper wear of your uniform. On that topic you'll find the contents of CAPM 39-1 to be very useful in your CAP career.

I think it's time you look up "chevron" (wikipedia will do). What you're referring to are called CAP cutouts, and they are phased out. As for chevrons, you'll have to earn those.
But can we put stargate chevrons on our uniforms?

I have some of those! >:D
I think I got rid of all of mine. Didn't wear them very long, then changed to the brushed finish ones.
Of course our uniforms should have some geek bling!

I bet 1800nametapes (or whatever the right name/URL is) could make that in white on blue if you sent them a good file. >:D
That said, is there any more useful commentary on the OP?
