A matter of preference or a matter of standardization with boots?

Not a major problem or question here, I've just been wondering lately if there is a rule for how high the pants must be on the boots? For example, should they be tucked in/bloused at the top of the boot with the top of the boot visible when standing or hanging down a bit? I know the Army has a rule where it doesn't go past the third eyelet on a boot, but does CAP or the Air Force have a similar rule to follow?

39-1 doesn't specify, "Blouse trousers over combat boots" (Table 2-3, line 2).  I've always used the Army's third eyelet rule as a guideline though, it looks more professional that way.

Bloused is "on or over", not tucked >in< the boot.

Anything not inside the boot should be fine.

"Bloused" over....mean that the pant leg is puffed out.  Tucked in or not....if it is bloused....it is okay.

What is not allowed is what used to be called "peg leg" where the pant leg was pulled tight around the calf.
