Here's the home for the JavaScript that generates the snow. For more entertainment hit the Christmas lights with your cursor. http://www.schillmania.com/projects/snowstorm/

Or to really kill time: http://www.schillmania.com/projects/soundmanager2/demo/christmas-lights/

The performance impact of the snow has minimal effects on my brand new Macbook Pro - however on my CAP issued dinosaur CT is basically unusable - I had to noscript the site so that I could browse. O_o

Pointless and very annoying.

I was looking for the piling up and melting .. but on the desktop it doesn't.

...unless I have to wait for it to pile up virtually under the monitor ... ;)

I think the issue with desktop is that the bottom of the page is also white...

If you scroll so one of the blue bars is showing you can see the accumulation.

I also just realized the "wind" follows the mouse.

It's about as cheesy and amatuer as the animated GIFs that still appear on probably 3/4's of the squadron webpages.

HTML5 is not at all like it.

a2capt

LOL.. just realized that the general direction and speed are effected by the mouse cursor being moved over the window.

PHall

I would have preferred if we could opt out of the flurries...

whatevah

I vote for it. It's fun. It's Christmas.

Please bring back the snow!

Better on my computer screen than my driveway.

I like it too. As they are white, they don't really interfere all that much.

Cool Mace

I say keep it. It helps get you in the Holiday spirit!

It really doesn't get in the way. Unless I want to notice it, I can easily look past them.
CAP is what you make of it. If you don't put anything in to it, you won't get anything out of it.
