I think we should have four cars with CAP plates driving in formation, each one from a different state....

...sorry, needed to lighten things up a bit...

:)

Admit it, you were going to say four vans, but then realized that getting 4 (functioning) CAP vans in one location for anything other than an encampment is almost impossible.

Speaking of the missing van formation... shall we get Maj. Brodsky to drive?

Probably.  They'll likely switch to just the red prop on the white triangle and blue circle.  Or, if we are unbelievably lucky, the CAP seal.  But I know there are regulations against that.

The big problem with the CAP seal is visibility - using the image size available on an plate, it's very hard to decode the CAP seal.  The MAJCOM patch is much more visually distinctive.

MD plates were originally all text and moved to the MAJCOM.

Tennessee for POV's. Police Officers, EMT/Paramedics, CD/EMA personnel, and CAP members are elligible for them.

Now you've done it.  If NHQ sees this, they'll ask for royalty payments on use of the cap name and MAJCOM image:)

PAWG has a lot of money.  They are probably considering that as an option to take it when we aren't looking.   ;D

Oklahoma has a Civil Air Patrol tag.  This image is from OK Tax Commission's web site.  They are the folks that issue the tag.

Hey man, gotta love the SARKID

People who arent in CAP keep asking me "What's a SARK and why does it have ID?"

I know that in NY, the plate doesn't extend any special privileges - what about other states?

RiverAux

A google search indicates that Nevada, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Louisiana, and Kentucky seem to have them.  Probably more.

Wisconsin's don't extend any privileges, but they are another "get out of jail free card".  I've heard horror stories about police in other states, but in WI, if you have military|EMT|firefighter|police plates the cops tend to leave you alone out of professional courtesy.  That and I have a bunch of firefighting/police window clings on the back of my truck from when my dad(firefighter) and step-mom(police) owned my truck.

Correct on KY.  Haven't had one in quite sometime.  I've gone through personalized plates, LEMF plate, fire dept plate and finally settled on my veteran plate.

Here's Texas CAP license plate. Very plain. Official CAP vehicles get 'Exempt' tags.

If you check out Missouri Wing's patch... some call it (lovingly) "The Rat On A Stick."  Others on this discussion board have informed me that they have heard it "The Golden Ass."  I don't see a donkey on it...I see a rat.
