Does anyone know of a place one can order replacement VFW NCO/Officer ribbons, AFA ribbons, or AFSA NCO ribbons?

You can order replacements from the AFA:

Air Force Association Headquarters
1501 Lee Highway
Arlington VA 22209-1198

Not sure of the fee, and I don't have the phone #.

Replacements of the AFSA can be obtained:

Air Force Sergeants Association
Member & Field Services
P. O. Box 50
Temple Hills, MD 20757

Again, not sure of the fee and don't have the phone #.

A letter to each I'm sure would get the information you need.  Hope that helps.

Only cadets are allowed to wear the organizational awards, right? I have numerous awards from the VFW, NCOA, ROA, American Legion, Special Forces Association, AUSA, and others. Got these from when I was a JROTC and ROTC cadet. Some of these medals look better than active duty ones. Too many of the active duty medals have become generic looking.

What about state National Guard awards. Are they allowed in CAP?

I just looked through it and it nowhere mentions state awards. In the Army, only National Guard soldiers on Title 32 or State Active Duty are authorized state awards. On Title 10, they are not allowed.

So I take it that National Guard awards are not allowed.

Don't forget Chapter 5 of CAPM 39-1
Table 5-2 Specifies US Military decorations, and further outlines the order of precedence of ribbons awarded in the US Military, as well as Foreign Service.

Aside from Interim Change Letters, anything not in 39-1 isn't cricket.

If it's in there, you're GTG. It really is that simple.
