So here's my problem. My wife's membership lapsed last year. She joined CAP a year after I did. When her paperwork went through, NHQ began to ship the magazine in her name. I logged onto eServices before the awesome makeover to make sure that I was signed up to receive the magazine. Sure enough, I was. Her membership lapsed end of August of 2007. Since then, I haven't received the magazine. Again, I've double checked to make sure I was on the mailing list. To date, I still am, but I am not getting the magazine. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions as to whom I should contact to complain?
I do not receive the magazine either and I am on the mailing list. It doesn't bother me to much, I just look at the .pdf version when I need to.
Call national...they'll fix it.
I'll have to email member services. No phone. It just irritates me because I enjoy the magazine in many other places other than in front of the computer. I was just hoping there was a way to fix this besides calling NHQ. Thanks for the advice!!
Gee: I thought I was the only one not getting the magazine anymore. . .
That's funny, I usually get two copies with my name on it and another one with my wife's. I wonder if CAP Magazine is considered a "3rd Party" and you need to uncheck/check the box saying you allow your information to be shared with 3rd Party people...

Since it's published by NHQ/PA, and not some subsidiary like "Volunteer Magazine, LLC", it would not be a third party. Those random credit card offers that get to use the CAP seal on their return address to send you exciting, new offers - however - are definitely third parties.
I haven't been receiving it either. Today in e-services, I saw an option for CAP Magazine Admin. I clicked that, and then clicked Add. It now says I'm subscribed.
No idea why I was ever unsubscribed.

Just wait for a while, and see if you actually get it. I was checked too to receive it, but I wasn't.
Maybe NHQ works the same as the department stores... If you don't place an order with Vanguard every 12 months they stop sending the catolog... ::)
No organization ever gets its publications out to everybody perfectly.
Has anyone gotone this year yet?? ???
If we're talking about "Volunteer", we've been getting the usual two copies every other month. Th next issue should be for March-April 2008.
I get mine, but then again, Im the only member in my household.
At the same time... has anyone else noticed a dramatic upsurge in the number of Ads in the vollunteer in the last few editions? (since Courter took over? )
Got the latest one yesterday. Will look at the ad percentages later. Remember, that's what pays for the magazine.

As long as they continue to screen the ad's I don't mind. The Volunteer is a good tool for both informational purposes and recruiting purposes. It's supplement is a good idea. The few ad's in this last issues didn't bother me and in fact I was courious about at least one of them that surprised me. [Do to geographic location of the school, I thought I should have known that it was present in the state I grew up in.]
Also aviation minded companies that would want to advertise in our mag might think about partnering, donating etc. [An ad can be the start of a relationship] It could even result in the staffing of the companies learning about CAP, as most companies [corporate head quarters] will purchase/request copies of the mag so that actual ad placment and quality of the publication/issue can be reviewed. Those copies will often be left in waiting areas etc.
One of the things I do for a living is direct business to business marketing [local level] but in that capacity I have seen companies leave out magazines in which they were either mentioned in a article and more pertinent to the conversation...some ONLY had a ad.
