I was taking my G1000 check ride on Friday , and during our taxi out i noticed an old lady saluting our aircraft, i was more focus about my taxi but my checkpilot waved back and he said I wonder what that was all about" We did the checkride and came back.. Never thinking twice about what just happened until I stumbled into an article:

I am guessing she thought we were part of the event , but even though we didn't know , at least i am proud to say that we probably made her day more complete.
Feels great to be part of an organization that has so much history. I guess sometimes all of us take for granted on what we have today.
I would love to sit with Mrs. Meachem and hear her stories. :)
