Title: Squadron Commander Requirements
Post by: MICT1362 on March 04, 2011, 01:10:27 AM
I have searched the regs to no avail.  So I ask all of the knowledgeable people here.

I was once told by a very know ledgable SM that a Technicians Rating in Safety was required for command at any level.  Has anybody else heard this before, or was this person totally off the mark?  If you happen to know a cite, please let me know.

Not a requirement.

This is a negative cite....because there are no regulations that mandate any rateing (or rank) to hold command.

Respiration and gravitational attraction inside normal parameters.

That's it.  I have seen SMWOG's with 30 days service appointed as Unit CC's (not in my wing).

Perhaps the reference was to the online training required in safety and ORM, but that is not a rating.

Thanks!

It has been SOME time since this conversation took place.  Very prior to the online safety course now required of all new members.

I appreciate the input!
