Does anyone have any good text PSAs to put on the radio?

I'm trying to get PSAs for my squadron on the local radio stations to build recruiting and just basic "product recognition". I have been in contact with the local radio stations and they tell me that most stations don't play the pre-recorded PSAs much anymore (which is what CAPChannel has to offer).  They just read them.  I've written some, but they just don't have that special something...you know? They just don't leap out at you. Does anybody have any that I can cheat off of?   >:D

Thanks.

Check with Major Carrales, he may have some.  I gave up on local radio when they referred to my squadron as the "289th Squadron of the Civil War Patrol."

You might also check with Jim Shaw, he has a few of the old radio audio tapes that can be transcribed to be read on the air. I used to write radio commercials for a station here, and often wrote CAP PSA to fill time slots.

If you have a lot of time on your hands, you could go through the current ones, and write them to be read. There are a couple good ones out there.

Interesting.  I've not heard that.  Did the stations you contacted say why that is?  Are you in a small town/rural area?  I wonder if it's more the result of the fact that many organizations don't have the funds to put together a professional ad.

No. I'm in the Oklahoma City metro.  One of the larger country stations told me about the text format also.  They like to read them over the entrance and exits from songs, he said.  Made since, I guess....   :-\

If you can get in touch with MD's Capt Steven Solomon.  He has done alot for MD Wing when it comes to public relations.  You can look him up at the MD Wing website.  www.mdcap.org

He also hosts a MD Wing radio station that is heard across the state of MD.
