I was extremely lucky this year, I have already been to one NCSA before and I doubted that I would be chosen as the primary for others because I still don't have my Mitchell yet.....

MKS Aviation Business Academy Staff- Primary
National Blue Beret- Primary

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO! These activities are the reason why I am staying optimistic about the school year ending......

thread is a little old

I applied for MKS didn't get selected (had to chase down the AD to find that out)

Next year I may apply for NBB I doubt it though.

I may contact the project officer for NBB and see if they need any additional Senior Members. Anyone have intel on whether they have openings? (Changes in my summer plans may allow for NBB afterall.)

Keep the cadets away from the beer vending machines ..

Japan is vending machine central. People have them on their front porches. Stoops, even. In some places you can reach out the bathroom window and the passing train could take off your hand.

Awsome place to go. :)

The AAR from last year shows a pretty rigorous schedule and it doesn't appear that we'll be spending a lot of time in the major cities (if the schedule remains the same).

It's interesting though, because the US is the only country that sends escorts.  I've been told that even though the host country is responsible for us and that I have no authority/responsibility for other country's cadets, that I should be making an active effort to ensure the other countries cadets stay well behaved...

As for the vending machines, I've heard that the "beer" vending machines should be the least of my worries... !!!

We're the only ones that send escorts? Wow. I do know that Japan sent one two years ago. I met her and her cadet and two British cadets. Nice group of people.

Other countries send escorts but not all of them.  When I was an escort in 2008 there was a Swiss escort in our group. This yr. Japan will be sending an escort with their cadets.

They're obligated to send an escort if they exceed 6 cadets in the exchange to a country.  Most countries do not send that many cadets and don't send an escort.

Yeah, I just couldn't swing any more vacation this year.  I leave for IACE on Saturday, get to spend the whole week at NB (CP Summit, teaching TLC , and the NB itself), fall NEC & BoG meetings, and maybe NSC.

As you know, it adds up after a while.

And my bosses are very demanding.   8)

It definitely was awesome. We learned a massive amount of useful information. I would also recommend this as a "Must go" NCSA. I was the Team 3 honor graduate and I knew COS was the right choice.

Congrats to all the COS grads. From one grad to another, you made the best choice in regards to your present and future life, in CAP or school or elsewhere. You probably made some of the best friends you could make in a CAP program. Good luck in the rest of your adventures.
